ENGINEERING GEOLOGY - EXAMPLES OF PROCESSING

Figure 1 shows the result of automatic processing of GPR profile obtained during the survey for the construction of the road.

In GPR profiles show that the attenuation of the probing pulse GPR in the ground is large and the bulk of the wave pattern is occupied noise and interference. It is obvious that the quality of GPR data does not allow conventional methods to determine the position of the boundary layers of the investigated soil. However, due to the construction of the section of the dielectric constant based on the analysis of backscattered field in the GEORADAR-EXPERT, you can make decisions about the structure of the sequence.

Fig.2 shows the result of automatic processing of GPR profile obtained in a survey of the freshwater lake. GPR antenna unit located at the bottom of the radio waves inflatable rubber boat, which floated uniformly in a straight trajectory. It is noteworthy that intensive multiple reflections from the bottom of the reservoir are not a hindrance to delineate sub-surface layers below the silt.

In Fig. 3 shows the result of automatic processing of GPR profile obtained by georadar survey of the peat bog, buried under a layer of sand. On the roof of GPR profile of peat soils is partially visible, but the full information about the situation borders on the depth and the change in electrical characteristics of each layer is made possible only after a treatment program in the GEORADAR-EXPERT. Note: The figure label "ПЕСОК" means sand, "ТОРФ", peat means.

In Fig. 4 shows the result of automatic processing of GPR data collected during the GPR survey area for the construction of an industrial facility in Siberia. The result is a horizontal cross section of three-dimensional array of attribute Q-factor at a depth of about 4m, derived from a set of non-parallel GPR profiles. The cross section is imposed on the geodesic plan for the program AutoCAD. The region in red corresponds to the decompression soils, the situation on the ground GPR profiles show a light purple arrows.
